Only candidates with experience working with dogs/customers or who have achieved/working towards an animal care diploma will be considered.

 

We are looking for someone to join Coppice Boarding Kennels and Cattery as a kennel supervisor! This is a really rewarding job caring for dogs and cats as part of the super team we already have. We are based in Melbourne, South Derbyshire.

 

Hours would be 16 - 27 hours over 2 to 4 days a week. One set day a week (Saturday/Sunday) with flexibility for the other shifts. Most likely 16-22 hours per week January and February, potential for up to 30 hours per week April onwards. Possible extra hours during school holidays and holiday/sickness cover.

 

You must have your own car in case of emergency vet trips.

 

18+ only

 

Duties will include-

Walking/playing with, handling, and caring for dogs and cats.

Answering phones, using the booking system, and filling out paperwork.

Cleaning walls and floors to a high standard.

Feeding pets and administering medicines.

Monitoring health and happiness of pets.

Serving customers.

Grooming dogs.

General odd jobs.

Applicants must be-

Physically able to be on your feet for long shifts.

Reliable and flexible.

Work well with customers.

Confident at handling cats and dogs of all sizes and temperaments.

Be able to manage your own time and the teams time.

Caring, patient, and proactive.

Things to consider-

You will have to pick up poo.

You may have to deal with difficult customers.

You will be responsible for up to 45 pets and 3 staff members.

You will be working outside in all weathers and temperatures.

Some days you will be working alone.

Must work some bank holidays.

General working hours are a combination of-

7.00am to 7.00pm (12 hour day with 1 hour unpaid break)

6.30am to 12.30pm (6 hours)

1.30pm to 7pm (5.5 hours)

Working with animals is unpredictable, there may be days when your working day runs longer than scheduled.

National Minimum Wage / Living Wage.

You must be confident working with customers and nervous pets. The ideal candidate will have a real passion for spending time with and caring for animals.
